Travel management moves to a digital platform March 27

The University of Oregon Business Affairs Office has launched a new paperless travel management process in the Concur system.

Concur is an online platform that allows users to streamline purchasing and travel systems. The new procurement card process launched in February, and the travel platform goes live March 27.

“We are excited to begin using this new online travel management tool to expedite and streamline the travel reimbursement processes,” travel manager Laurie Jacoby said.

Concur for Travel is a one-stop shop for all things travel, from submitting the initial planning request to uploading receipts. Gone are the days of tracking paper receipts. Travelers can simply snap pictures of their receipts and upload them to their expense report.

All UO employees will also receive access to Concur’s TripIt Pro, a mobile app that organizes all travel details in one place.

“TripIt Pro is a helpful tool for travelers,” Jacoby said. “It not only tracks expenses but also gives real time flight updates and notifications about gate changes and tracks reward points. It can even help find another flight if one gets canceled.”

Employees who travel frequently for their jobs are encouraged to meet with their travel coordinators to learn more about changes to travel management processes, Jacoby said.

Campus travel coordinators have been engaged in training sessions since February. Employees who travel are invited to two-hour Concur demonstrations in the Ford Alumni ballroom April 9 at 10 a.m., April 16 at 10 a.m., April 25 at 1 p.m. and April 30 at 1 p.m. No registration is required.
