UO vice president sees promise in the arrival of a new year

With a pledge to learn from the past, UO Vice President for Advancement Michael Andreasen is looking toward the future.

In an opinion article in the Jan. 6 issue of The Register-Guard, Andreasen both looked back at a challenging 2014 and the promise of the coming year. He said the university has built a strong foundation with its faculty and campus community, the installation of a new board of trustees and collaborations with the surrounding communities and the state that leave him thankful as the new year begins.

“I am grateful for the generosity and faith of all university donors, alumni and friends, and for the leadership of our trustees as we push forward higher education’s new frontier,” Andreasen writes. “As I look ahead to 2015, I see opportunities for the university and community to move forward with optimism. We can learn from the past and resolve to build a stronger university on the foundation in place today.”
