2016 Stamps Scholars

Champions come from everywhere. They can excel at biology as easily as baseball; one can be as sharp in history as another is at hockey.

The University of Oregon celebrates all of its champions. That's why every year it holds special events when some of Oregon's top students sign up to become academic Ducks, earning admission to a prestigious group of scholars through the Stamps Scholarship Program.

Take a video tour of the UO's schools and colleges

An undergraduate student at the University of Oregon has many paths from which to choose — more than 270 science and liberal arts majors, centered in seven schools and colleges.

Each school and college has a distinct identity, and serves as community of scholars within the larger university. We set out to explore these centers of knowledge through video storytelling, focusing on outstanding faculty members and students.

Watch this space in the coming weeks and months as more schools and colleges land in the video spotlight.

Elite in basketball and beyond

Duck fans everywhere are celebrating the upcoming trip to the Elite Eight in the NCAA men's basketball championship, which got the team at University Communications thinking about all the ways the UO lands in the nation's elite.

The University of Oregon is a leader in research into the vast forces that govern the universe as well as the tiny microbes that affect our health. Its students reach the heights of scholarship right alongside their professors. And its graduates are helping shape a new world and a new era.
